Zachary posted at his website and Twitter an interview from YoungHollywood.com about him hosting Hollywood Last Wanted on Nov. 21rst. Besides the event he was talking about future plans too, hoping that he will have the chance to do a play again. I would love to see him at stage, but of course, that's not gonna happen. Good luck anyway :-)

This interview with Vincent Kartheiser was hold by Michael Politz from Food&Beverage Magazine and published on their website this month. My friend Engel@Wolke7 discovered it on the net. It doesn't give any interesting informations about Mad Men or any upcoming projects, this article really focus on the restaurant (Kitchen 24), it's Executive Chef David Rosenberger and why Vincent, who is a vegetarian, seems to be a regular guest there. Enjoy :-)

This Mad Man is Mad About His Craft. And Vegetables.

Vincent Kartheiser

On television’s Mad Men, Vincent Kartheiser plays Peter Campbell, a Junior Account Executive at the fictional ad agency, Sterling Cooper. In real life, Vincent Kartheiser is a chef’s dream.

Sure he’s a vegetarian, which might make some offal-loving chefs a little batty; but he doesn’t let it get in his way of digging into a menu. As a matter of fact, he relishes the opportunity to let a chef’s talent shine through. Kartheiser explains, “It’s really easy being a vegetarian. I never have a problem finding something to eat. I’m actually one of the few people who say ‘chef’s preference – please cook it how the chef chose it to be made’ rather than asking for everything on the side.”

Chefs like David Rosenberger, Executive Chef at Kitchen 24, LA’s hot new 24-hour restaurant on Cahuenga Boulevard where we caught up with Kartheiser recently, welcome diners like this award- winning actor. And he welcomes all the finicky eaters who make their way to Kitchen 24 and aren’t as laid back as Kartheiser. You’ve got to welcome everyone with open arms when you run a 24-hour restaurant in the heart of a gentrifying area populated at night by hungry patrons, pouring out of local lounges and nightclubs smack in the middle of a culinarily underserved neighborhood.

The Mad Men - and Women - are back! Vincent Kartheiser is Pete Campbell

Date: 03.02.2009
Category: TV Drama; BBC Four

Vincent as Pete

Do you enjoy the fashion?

I never really wore suits before this. It does look amazing. The thing is, now when I go to get a suit fitted, or I go to pick out a shirt, I am looking for a suit that really fits. I am so used to being strapped in on set, so if it is not tailored I feel like it is wearing me.

I have learned a lot about fashion on this show and Janie Bryant is a true artist. She is a perfectionist and has helped define our characters and the story

Is it true that you have to shave three to four times a day?

I think Jon Hamm has to shave three to four times a day. I have to shave twice a day. I will shave in the morning and, if I have a long day, then 10 to 12 hours later I will shave again.

Does it feel like you live in the Sixties when you get on set everyday?

Well I think this show in general is about insight into where we are now. Part of it is about comparing and contrasting how we have changed or not and how the human drama stays consistent no matter what generation we are in.

That being said, if you are going to look at the Sixties and the 21st century, there are definitely things that you can take from this show. Some things are tongue-in-cheek and some things are more profound, but I don't get to set and feel like we are in 1960 because I have an iPhone in my pocket.

Do you crack each other up between takes?

Well, everyone is funny in a different way. John Slattery and Jon Hamm have a great back and forth thing going on. So when they are together everyone just kind of shuts up and listens.

Cinematically were you amazed when you first watched the first episode?

I have a lot of respect for the people who work behind the camera on this show. I thought each one of these shots probably took all day to film but, no, you just don't have that luxury in television. It is seven to eight pages a day and you are shooting a scene in two takes.

To get all of the richness we get on Mad Men is really amazing on the schedule. I am blown away by that work, they are amazing.

It is great you all get along so well with the long hours.

I don't have long hours. I think Jon Hamm works his ass off and January and Elisabeth too. My hours are pretty great. It is a pretty lax schedule. I try not to gloat too much as I skip off at 2pm after starting at noon.

What do you do in your free time?

Nothing. Just lay around. Pretty uneventful. I Google strange sentences.

What do you watch?

I watch a lot of news, finance and nature programmes. I watched The Wire, Californication and, sometimes, Dexter. I watch things that people turn me on to like 30 Rock and The Office. I think both of those are really funny.

The English version of The Office is great too. I saw it years ago when I was flying over to London and they had a Christmas special on the plane. I ordered it because it was the top on Virgin favorites. I was blown away, so I watched three more episodes on the plane and, the second I got back to the States, I found the DVD.

For the love of Pete

By BILL HARRIS
Sun, October 19, 2008

Pete Campbell can be a jerk. But while watching last week's episode of Mad Men, we actually felt sorry for him.

There was Pete, played by Vincent Kartheiser, anxious to have at least a little fun in the sun during an advertising business trip to California. Pete's boss Don Draper, played by Jon Hamm, nixed that idea with a curt, "You want to be on vacation, Pete? Because I can make that happen."

Then before you know it, dour Don takes off with some 21-year-old hot chick in a convertible, leaving Pete to make excuses to would-be clients.

In many ways, Pete -- with his rich-kid demeanour and blind ambition -- is the villain in the Emmy Award-winning Mad Men, which is set in the early 1960s and airs Sundays on A and AMC. But Kartheiser doesn't see Pete that way, and certainly, Pete wouldn't see himself that way.

"Pete is an annoying guy, but you feel sorry for him in the way you feel sorry for Steve Carell in The Office," Kartheiser said.

"Pete's life made him who he is and I think he wonders why people aren't more sympathetic. 'Why doesn't everyone like me? Can't they see what I've been through to get here? Why can't they just give me what I deserve?' "

Kartheiser, 29, looks younger when dressed in everyday 2008 clothes. The snappy suits Pete wears in Mad Men make him look older, and while it's a cliche to say people grew up faster 45 years ago than they do now, Kartheiser cautioned the clothes don't make the man.

"I actually have been through a lot more in my life than Pete has," said Kartheiser, a native of Minnesota who previously was known for his role as Connor in the TV series Angel.

"I think Pete is less of a man than me. The difference in the visual is that Pete had a finishing-school upbringing. I'm an actor, so part of my job is looking like a bum. So I think manners and age are being confused here.

"But these days we constantly hear about how kids are growing up so fast. We've always had weird ideas about that. I personally think people always are the same. To say that (people in the early 1960s) came from a different era, therefore they were a whole different breed of human, it just doesn't work. I think they were pretending more. There was a lot of posturing."

Posturing is a big part of Pete's repertoire, and it probably will continue to be. But you know, Don is a big phony himself, so Pete hardly is alone.

"Pete is a confused young man who wants to excel, wants to be worthy, wants to be valued," Kartheiser said. "He has cutting-edge ideas and he's at the forefront of change. And I think he feels others don't respond well to that.

"That said, he talks more than he probably should, and he loves the taste of his shoe."

Today I found an Interview with Vincent Kartheiser's and Elisabeth Moss about their characters in Mad Men at The Canadian Press. Enjoy :-)

Eben habe ich ein neues Interview with Vincent Kartheiser's und Elisabeth Moss über ihre Rollen in Mad Men auf der Webseite The Canadian Press gefunden, Viel Spaß!

'Mad Men' stars Vincent Kartheiser and Elisabeth Moss have fun as Pete and Peggy

By: NEW YORK —

On the "Mad Men" premiere last summer, a boozy Pete Campbell hauled himself from his bachelor party to the door of Peggy Olson's modest Brooklyn apartment.
"I wanted to see you tonight," implored Pete, an overzealous ad account executive who, at that late hour, was gripped by panic at his looming marriage.
Peggy, the winsome new hire in the Sterling Cooper secretarial pool, surprised herself by letting him in.
Airing Sundays on AMC in the U.S. and on A channel in Canada, the Peabody Award-winning "Mad Men" now is in its second season. And it has kept Pete and Peggy entangled in multiple ways, none of them romantic and most of them hush-hush (including the child that Pete still doesn't know about).
Fortunately, things are much lighter between Vincent Kartheiser and Elisabeth Moss, who play that pair on the splendid '60s-era drama. In a joint interview, they tease each other, laugh a lot, and seem like pals.
Turns out Kartheiser (at 29, a former regular on "Angel," the spinoff of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") and Moss (who is 26 and played presidential daughter Zoey on "The West Wing") had met before they got "Mad Men." A few years back, both took part in a filmmaking workshop.
"You had a prima donna actor," says Kartheiser in self-appraisal, then nods toward Moss magisterially, "and Miss Perfect."
"Two sides of the coin," chuckles Moss.
Kartheiser recalls a scene: "I had a disease called congenital analgesia, which means I couldn't feel anything. My character was always burning himself with cigarettes and saying, 'Whatever."'
"And I was supposed to be in love with you," says Moss with a grin.
On "Mad Men," they enjoy far more, um, dramatic leeway.
"At the beginning Peggy was definitely naive," muses Moss, appraising the distance she's come, "and I wouldn't say she's toughened up, but, instead, the problems hitting her now have become bigger. At first, it was learning to use a typewriter, and now it's a baby - with the father of the baby someone she works with."
But she's moving up in the agency. A quick learner, she's now helping create ad campaigns. And she's gingerly overcoming anti-female bias in the workplace - even from Pete Campbell.
Meanwhile, Campbell continues trying to win approval from Don Draper, the magnetic though tormented agency exec at the show's core. But Draper (played by Jon Hamm) hates him. Campbell, for all his skill in the advertising game, lacks people skills. He's sort of a jerk - isn't he?
"Well, it's unfortunate that you see it that way," Kartheiser tells the interviewer with mock indignation. "Some people just AREN'T as likable as others, no matter what they do. Pete Campbell does the same (stuff) as Don Draper, but Draper's way more likable, and gets away with things."
Of course, no sweeping term such as "likability" does justice to the series' world of characters, who, even as they all share screen time, emerge as complex individuals.
"Jon is the lead, and he always has something going on," says Moss. "But I don't think the rest of us feel left out, or that we don't get our moments."
"We trust Matt," says Kartheiser, meaning "Mad Men" mastermind Matthew Weiner. "I don't think anyone in our cast has any doubt that he always has the best story line in mind, and that's what we're there to serve."
"Yesterday he said to me, 'The next episode we're shooting is about objects,' and I said, 'OK,"' Moss marvels. "He always has this grand idea, and we're just lucky to be part of it."
Moss even feels lucky to have "carried" Peggy's "child." It was a shrewdly gradual plumping-up process that went unrecognized as anything other than weight gain, even by the unwitting mother-to-be - until, much to Peggy's shock on the season finale, she went into labour.
"Over seven episodes, I had four stages of padding and three stages of makeup," says Moss. Friends she hadn't seen in years watched the show and - shades of Kirstie Alley! - worried that she had an eating disorder. "But they didn't want to ask."
"Like: 'Did you quit smoking?"' chortles Kartheiser.
But that was last season (and 1960). Now "Mad Men" has progressed to spring 1962.
For Moss, who (like Kartheiser and most of the cast) wasn't born yet, it's a history lesson she is moving through.
"But I've learned more about the similarities than the differences between then and now," she says. "Usually, you look back on another era in terms of the milestones. But at the same time, people were just living their lives."
She might have added: That's where the unexpected drama unfolds, where "Mad Men" lives its life.

Now I definitely have continue working :-)))

While I was browsing AMC's website searching for a more complete episode guide of Mad Men, I found a brand new Vincent Kartheiser Q&A instead :-) I didn't find a complete guide so far, but at TV.com they knew at least some more episode titles :-) I will never understand why AMC doesn't list them in time by themselves...

Q&A - Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell)

In this exclusive interview with AMCtv.com, Vincent Kartheiser discusses his character Pete Campbell, not to mention the actors portraying him in the "You Could Be on Mad Men Contest."

Q: Episode 2 has Pete coping with the death of his father -- and you coping with the death of Christopher Allport, the late actor who played him. What was that like?

A: Christopher Allport was really great. We only had one scene with him last year, but it was a great scene. And I think the way Matthew [Weiner] handled it in the show is amazing because he doesn't play to that obvious reaction. The death of someone so pivotal in your life really creates a self-analysis...I think the bigger question about the episode is "How are we supposed to respond in certain situations? What am I supposed to be doing now that this thing has hit?" This is a very small and bad analogy, but I just had a flood at my house, and I looked at my house full of mud and I was like, "What am I supposed to do?" I knew there was something I should be doing in this situation, and I think emotionally that's what Pete's going through. I'm just thankful that my parents will live forever, because that's just how it's going to happen, okay?

Q: Do you think this development makes Pete more sympathetic?

A: I think people should be able to empathize with him on a certain level. It's hard for me to think too much about whether the viewing audience is going to sympathize or not with Pete, because this is a character that I've now been with for three years. I think there's a certain amount of people who still won't like him. And I think there are people in the world that when I hear bad things have happened to them, I won't sympathize or empathize. Some people have it coming.

Q: What's the hardest part about playing Pete?

A: The most difficult part sometimes is that people are constantly shunning him and locking him out of conversations. He gets humbled several times in the first season, and I think it's a strong character trait of his that he can take that and continue to bully his way into the next thing. But it's such a blessing to have a character like this. The words just jump off the page and the characters fall in line and very rarely or ever do you see someone going, "What am I doing this for?"

Q: Have you been paying attention to the videos of fans saying your monologue for AMCtv.com's contest to win a role on Mad Men?

A: Yeah I have. I feel anger towards all of them that they're trying to one-up me. [Laughs] I don't get it. Why don't you guys just go do Jon Hamm. Come on! Who wants to be Pete Campbell anyways? I mean, I do. But I didn't think there was any other freak out there who wanted to be Pete.
