From the source:
"Between 1967 and 1979, Gold Key published 61 STAR TREK comics. Today's fans often overlook these stories, forgetting that they are part of the STAR TREK universe. While far from canon for a number of reasons, these adventures are every bit as exciting and fascinating as their television counterpart."

SWEET GODDAMN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN AND EVERYONE IN BETWEEN! This site (and these comics)are fantastically hilarious. I submit for your entertainment, Spock's "Psycho File"... (with bonus sneaky-slash!)

SPOCK, SPOCK YOUR HEAD'S AN EARTH ROCK. )

And here concludes my way too long, way too manic presentation of Spock's Psycho-File from the Gold Key Star Trek comic series! If anyone wants, I can post our other favorite 'Fleetsters, or show you some of my favorite issues from this series. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the lulz :)
Also, if anyone has Tumblr-- I post this (and other Star Trek stuff) all. Frickin. Day. Seriously, I'm locked to a computer at work, this is what I do.

I was reading <a href="http://www.notalwaysright.com.(The Customer Is) Not Always Right</a> thanks to ONTD, and I found this GQMF post:

Klingon To The Hope Of A Ticket

Movie Theater | London, UK

Customer: “Two tickets for Star Trek, please.”

Me: “That showing has sold out, sir.”

Customer: “What! That’s impossible!”

Me: “The IMAX is very popular sir. I am afraid we don’t have any more seats until tomorrow.”

Customer: “I need to see this movie! You’re not a Star Trek fan. You wouldn’t understand! Please sell me a ticket!”

Me: “I would love to sir, but the needs of the one or the few do not outweigh the needs of the many.”

Customer: *recognizing my quote from Star Trek* “I see. I suppose I couldn’t say that sometimes the needs of the one or the few do outweigh the needs of the many?”

Me: “No sir, that would be quite illogical.”

Customer: “Hmm, you’re good.”

Me: “I must have the lobes for business.”

Customer: “Two tickets for tomorrow then, please.”

Me: “Very good, sir.”

Customer: “Live long and prosper!”

I don't know if this is relevant, so feel free to reject. A Heroes recap from EW which pretty much summarizes everything that's going wrong.
"Zachary Quinto is great, but Sylar’s character arc is nonsensical and I get the vibe that Quinto is anxious to move on to bigger, better, Spockier things."
"Did you like having Sylar back to his old self? He had one line that seemed to sum up this season: 'Everybody’s got big plans for me. I think that’s all they have.'"

Well, now that Sylar is an epic slut (lol, jk, nothing that exciting is happening), he's taking his clothes of more. This episode came complete with horrendous lens flare failures at the opener (If there were a gif of JJ facepalming I would use it), the makings for a perfectly good porno with the cheerleader, and a woman running her fingers through Sylar's chest hair.

HEROES. YOU NEVER FAIL TO MAKE ME FEEL WEIRD AND UNCOMFORTABLE.

This is pretty much JUST chest hair. )

Don't really consider myself a "fan fiction writer", but I'm waiting for the IT guy to update the test software environment....

Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test...

The True Fan

OOC is blasphemy, canon is everything.

Once you fall in love with a movie, book or TV series, you are loyal like an old dog. You take fanfiction quite serious and use it as a substitute after the canon ran out.

You are probably a walking dictionary of your favourite fandom and you are picky about what you write and read. The closer to the "real thing" fanfiction is, the more you like it.

You rather explore a character in all depth, see new sides and learn more about them than creating new characters or mix up the situations they are in.

Fans of Min-woo Hyung's Korean comic book series "Priest" are bound to see differences when Scott Stewart's feature film adaptation, Priest , hits the screen. It's inevitable. Publisher Tokyopop hopes to ease readers into the big screen interpretation through an all-new graphic novel called "Priest: Purgatory." A veil of evil threatens to engulf humanity, and one man stands in the way of the apocalypse: our hero, a fallen priest who sold his soul for the power to battle evil and fight for humanity's redemption. Tokyopop says "Purgatory" will bridge the storyline in the comic to the film which stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban and Maggie Q.

The first issue in the four-part comic series streets on March 31; the film opens on August 20.

Pretty in pink has been polled here six years ago during this community's heydays with over 90 votes.

Trivia : The original ending to this film depicted Duckie getting the girl. However, the test audiences said they would have preferred to see Blane win Andie's heart. Robert Downey Jr. was almost cast as Duckie when the ending had Andie getting together with Duckie. Per Molly Ringwald, this ending may have stuck if Downey won the role because he didn't give her the "brother vibe" Jon Cryer did. -- [info]derralf

Is there a particular reason we have yet to discuss this GQMF series from the 90's?

Not only is the titular character, Captain Simian, very obviously an homage to Kirk, but the villain of the series is voiced by none other than Michael Dorn (ultimate Klingon GQMF). Also involved is the ever wonderful Malcolm McDowell (who we all know as "that jerk who killed Kirk in that crappy movie").

I mean all the episodes are definitely definitely based off a lot of Trek related stuff, but there are a number of running themes and characters that are just overt references. The best of which are the "Holo Boons", holographic baboons created by Dr. Splitz to test out the atmosphere of unknown planets. They are a parody of the redshirts from the original Star Trek series, and almost always get destroyed, usually in hilarious ways.

Also Captain Charlie's chair is exactly like Kirk's. Just look at this ape right here. He is totally GQ.

There are many full episodes (well, split in half episodes) on YouTube, and all of them are totally plump with Trek references.

I can't be the only one who watched this as a kid!

....I don't think any tags fit this
